Troika partnered with Hulu to develop a new brand platform, “For the Love of TV,” launching with a 360 integrated Fall campaign. The campaign introduces the Hulu Guru, a brand advocate who embodies the passion, innovation, and playful spirit in Hulu’s DNA.
We oversaw every element from strategy to a series of nationwide TV spots to a robust digital activation. The result is an innovative campaign that re-establishes Hulu within popular culture, and celebrates the way Hulu lets audiences love TV on their own terms.
Refresh French-Canadian network V’s brand identity by broadening the brand’s appeal and owning their “Passion to Entertain” position. Shift V’s branding and communication to reflect the change in their audience without losing core brand distinctions.
An updated identity based upon V’s values of being candid and creative. The new look is rooted in V’s signature black and yellow colors, but was expanded upon to bring more diversity to the identity.
Given V’s recently expanded audience, it was essential to drive talent and show attribution back to the network. This was accomplished through a branded promo system and IDs that incorporate V’s brand DNA with live-action shots of their talent.
We teamed up with UCLA Extension to launch an extensive campaign throughout Southern California to increase awareness, particularly amidst the modern-day challenges of heightened competition among continuing education. The out-of-home campaign includes billboards, pole banners, bus tails on the Metro and the Blue Line, as well as digital displays at local airports, in elevators, cinemas and online.
Reinvigorate, reposition, and rebrand one of the most beloved entertainment brands in the world. This year long partnership touched all aspects of the brand’s communication platforms and visual identity, including on-air, online, print, ad sales, promo and launch campaigns.
Discovery’s identity was built to pull viewers closer to the network’s talent and the worlds they live in. Design signatures were built to deliver on Discovery’s core brand values of optimism and adventure; bold typographic layouts, documentary grit, rack focuses and a bright palette.
The promo system was built to give Discovery a consistent and ownable design, writing and editorial style.
Collaborative workshops were conducted at Discovery’s headquarters to keep their internal teams involved with the brand updates; some onsites were hands-on sessions to implement the new package, while others were intakes on how the package could be best built for each department. We worked with Discovery’s internal teams to create 8 upfront sales tapes to take on the road during upfronts to generate buzz around their slate of programming and new identity.

The BET Awards is the network’s biggest, most watched, most tweeted about night of the year. It’s where all lovers of black culture come together to celebrate what’s hot, what’s next and what matters. The Awards are the “main event” of the BET Experience – closing out the innovative 3-day music, cultural and fan fest at LA Live. This year’s theme “MEET ME @ BET AWARDS” highlights the incredible social connectivity of the Awards Show.
Troika partnered with BET to create an overarching brand concept – called “NEON EVENT.” At the core of the concept is the language of connectivity brought to life through brightly lit neon tubes, whose sculptural forms inform everything from show and promo packaging to set design.
Working closely with the Awards Show production team we developed hundreds of elements to create the epic, dynamic and consistent live show experience. Of course, it helped that Chris Rock added his biting humor and attitude to the festivities. The awards show had the highest ratings in years.
2016 marks 10 years of a great partnership between Troika and The CW.
I have been the CD throughout the evolution of the brand. Overseeing multiple realignments to keep the youngest "broadcast" entertainment brand fresh through massive industry change. It is great to see The CW as relevant today if not more so than it was in 2006. Can't say that about most TV brands.

Create a tagline, updated logo, and brand identity that establishes AMC as a destination for premium content with popular appeal.
Something More – speaks to the network’s reputation of delivering content that goes deeper and takes unexpected twists.
The new identity is accessible, warm, and welcoming. Although built to reflect a premium aesthetic, the AMC brand is designed to avoid a cold luxury good feel.

Troika partnered with long-time client, The CW, to help refocus the brand by understanding its evolving audience within the current cultural climate. Qualitative research led by our Research & Insights Group illuminated a core audience psychographic that drove the “Heroes Within” Fall Brand Campaign.
The result is an insight-driven campaign line and brand film that immediately connected with the network show fans – the brand film was viewed on Facebook 2.85M times in its premiere week alone.
